Even if you have not visited the restaurant, you may have had sushi from Sushi Way.
How’s that?
For years, Sushi Way owner Dori has been catering trays of sushi and providing take away. Now you can enjoy the sushi and other delicious Asian foods at the new Sushi Way restaurant, on Ahuza Street, near the Eliav Center.
Dori and his staff have created a pleasant Asian style restaurant in the space facing Ahuza Street. There is seating indoors and outdoors on the wide walkway in front of the restaurant. The easy to read menu (in Hebrew and English) offers sushi, Asian dishes (noodles, etc) in combinations, or as a business lunch. There are many choices and the patient waitresses will be pleased to explain the menu to you.
All the dishes at Sushi Way are freshly prepared for you after you make your order. The good news is that the food is exceptional, but expect to wait a bit for your order. Sushi Way is not a fast-food operation. It is an Asian meat restaurant (with many parve options). Only fresh products are used, and there is no MSG at the restaurant.
I visited Sushi Way with a sushi “maven” from the US. My companion started with the Miso soup. This is a cultivated taste, and one that eludes me, even after many years of trying. My companion was delighted with it, till the last drop.

I chose the vegetable tempura as an appetizer and was hoping to enjoy it while my companion was having his soup. Made from scratch after the order, this dish was not served till my companion’s soup was long gone. Though it took a while, it was definitely worth the wait. I would recommend this dish as a highlight of the menu. The portion was plentiful and the vegetables were absolutely delicious. The coating was light, not oily and very tasty; a winner on all counts.
Dori is a masterful sushi chef. The sushi platters are attractive, enticing and delicious. You’ll find a great variety of sushi at Sushi Way. We love the veggie and salmon sushi, prepared the conventional way and the inside outs. The menu offers many other types of fish sushi and other dishes. These can be ordered individually or in combinations. The meals that we enjoyed for under NIS 200, my companion said, would have cost more than twice this amount in New York.
Sushi Way also offers a good selection of parve and meat Asian dishes like Pad Thai noodles with or without chicken and lots of vegetables. Since every dish is made especially for you, the kitchen will entertain special requests with a smile.
Dori promises a great selection of Asian desserts available soon.
Note that the eLuna discount coupon does not apply to the business lunch and to discounted combinations.
You can continue to order
