RYU is a Kosher LeMehadrin, meat Asian fusion Chef restaurant.
The name “RYU” itself is a fusion between the Japanese and Jewish traditions. RYU is Japanese for “dragon” and is also a Kabalistic term.
 The RYU kitchen produces a varied meat menu, which combines cuisine from the Far East and local ingredients from the Mediterranean. On the menu you will find rich and varied dishes such as: sushi, dim sum, and various Asian dishes that are prepared in the oven, wok and grill. Dishes are made from the highest quality ingredients, in surprising combinations, with authentic flavors and unique presentation.
Diners can choose different sized portions at different prices.
The restaurant culinary advisor is Arlen Goldstein and the acting chef is Eran Gefen. Eran did his apprenticeship in Michelin-rated restaurants and worked at Arcadia for five years.
RYU has an indoor area and a large garden patio. Jerusalem architect Nir Portal gave the restaurant a contemporary look in wood and iron. The wood radiates warmth and the iron provides the feeling of strength and stability. The outdoor patio area connects our guests to the Jerusalem neighborhood.
The restaurant is located is a historically preserved building and all stages of the design and construction were done with the cooperation, supervision and approval of the unit for the preservation of buildings for the Municipality of Jerusalem, guaranteeing that the restaurant remain in accordance with Jerusalem's atmosphere.
The restaurant is available for parties of 15 to 150 people.
